4-H Members in Rooks County work year round to prepare their entries for the fair. Whether members are capturing photographs, launching rockets and fitting their livestock, Rooks County's youngsters can do it all. Open Class

Located in the Northwest Building of the Rooks County Fair Grounds, the Open Class Building showcases the talents of Rooks County's finest. Stop by the Open Class Building during the Rooks County Free Fair to see baked goods, arts and crafts, quilts, textiles, photography, crops and much more!

Chickens, turkeys, and game birds must be tested for Avian Influenza and Pullorum-typhoid prior to exhibition at the Rooks County Free Fair.  Testing will be provided July 20 from 6-8 p.m. at the Rooks County Fairgrounds.  This will be for all birds that will be exhibited (4-H, FFA, and Open Class).  Birds must have a negative test result to exhibit at the fair.

Youth Pet Parade

Wednesday, August 11 at 5:30 p.m.

          Sutor-Blauer Arena

The Youth Pet Parade consists of children who have an animal or pet they wish to bring to the fair to show in the arena.

Any youth may participate.  Participants may show a bucket calf, dog, cat, lamb, or small pet. (NO LARGE ANIMALS.)


This is a non-competitive event, all exhibitors will receive a participation ribbon.
